By Catherine Jenson

Although the yeast infections on vagina might be the most common kind of infection caused by yeast, there are other types of infections, which may badly affect a person. These include the penile, mouth and skin yeast infections. All such types of infections caused by yeast are contagious and can be passed from one person to another if direct skin contact is made with any part of the area, which is infected. In case of the penile and vaginal yeast infections, transmission usually takes place as a result of the sexual intercourse with a person, who is already infected.

Skin yeast infections are transmitted in the similar way, though not as a result of the sexual intercourse. If you come into direct contact with a person, who's suffering from such infections, there is a good chance that the infection gets passed on from the patient to your body. The same thing is applicable for usage of towel of a person who is affected by any sort of skin yeast infection. Therefore, until you are completely cured, you should not use common things like handkerchief, towels etc.

The clothes used by you also have to be kept separate if you are infected by yeast or fungal infections. Even when you get cured, you should continue the vigilance and launder the towel and your clothes separately for sometime. Moreover, the clothes of the infected person should be soaked in hot water and should be rinsed with hand thoroughly to eliminate all the yeast, fungus and bacteria.

One more thing that an infected person should do is to pat during an itching sensation, instead of rubbing the infected area. It will keep the towel's abrasion to a minimum and if you have irritation and rashes, it will help relieve the pain you might feel otherwise.
